Hello again!  I hope this post finds everyone staying at home and safe.

It’s amazing how much can be found on the internet to keep a person entertained and learning while we’re hanging out at home.  I’m taking classes on all kinds of subjects from several different sites myself these days.  I’m almost finished with all the courses on Code.org.  That site is like playing a game all day!  I’m reviewing my math skills on Alison (Alison.com).  I’ve started coding on FreeCodeCamp (https://www.freecodecamp.org/learn/), and I am excited to say that I am finally working on earning NASA Badges (https://www.txstate-epdc.net/).  I’m not advertising these sites over any others.  I’ll mention other websites that offer adult learning as part of my blog posts every few days.

Oh, yeah!  I just received National Geographic Educator certification!!  I’m excited about that!

In the last few days, I have found lots of places online to go for live-streaming story-times and recorded story-times on youtube.  I found museums offering 3D virtual tours (I spent quite a while in Anne Frank’s Annex.)  I’m listing sites that offer both e-books to read on your own, and e-books that read to you.  I am also listing some fantastic zoo sites and webcams of animals doing their thing.  Oh, and if you go to the Georgia Aquarium’s website, they have an art contest that kids can enter, and you can chat with the animal caretakers during the day while you watch the webcams.

People can’t tour the Shedd Aquarium, but the penguins can!!

If you aren’t so fond of penguins, what do you think about Sue, the T-rex?

It’s still Women’s History Month, for the next days, so take a look at this:

Tell Me a Story

https://kcls.org/content/

A huge collection of finger rhymes and poems to share with children

Please check back in a few days.  I’ll be posting more early next week.  Since April is Earth Day month, I’ll look for subjects relating to Earth Day, conservation, and recycling.  I’ll look for science information, art, and I haven’t forgotten about the graphic novels.  There will be some in my next post. I promise!

If there’s a subject you want me to research for you, please let me know.

Stay home.  Stay healthy!
