Join the NASA GLOBE 2020 Community Cloud Challenge! Whether your library programs have gone virtual, curbside, or you’re able to host in-person events, you can invite your patrons to discover clouds from a new perspective. We all share the same sky with a wide variety of clouds in it. This is unique opportunity to learn about clouds together.

Choose how to participate

  • Take observations: Observe clouds or sky conditions using the Clouds tool in the GLOBE Observer app. These observations can help scientists see change over time and help with interpretation of satellite cloud data. Download the app, register with an email and get started – the in-app tutorial will teach you everything you need to know to observe clouds. If you’d like to learn more there are online videos and other resources to help.
  • Learn about clouds with NASA scientists and educators: Every Thursday at 12 noon ET learn more about clouds from NASA scientists. Watch the video premier each week on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/nasaearth/); ask questions during the live event and NASA cloud experts and GLOBE educators will be there to answer questions during the video premiere. Each week will also feature a video demo of an activity that can be done at home.
  • Do an At-Home Activity: There are 20 different activities featured in the cloud activity tracker. You could feature a different activity every day or week on your library’s social media or website.
